We are seeking an Architectural Millwork Estimator who thrives in complexity, understands luxury construction, and takes pride in building accurate, intelligent, and profitable project budgets.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
This is not a price-book estimating position.
This role requires analytical thinking, deep millwork knowledge, and the ability to build detailed scopes and budgets from architectural drawings, often for one-of-a-kind, highly customized projects.
As an Estimator at metrica, you will play a critical role in transforming visionary design into executable and profitable reality. You will collaborate closely with leadership, project managers, engineering, and production to ensure accuracy, clarity, and strategic cost positioning.
You will report directly to the Senior Estimator and be instrumental in shaping competitive, comprehensive proposals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform detailed takeoffs from architectural drawings using PlanSwift
- Develop complete and accurate scopes of work from plan sets
- Identify and price all custom millwork components
- Determine labor, finishing, material, hardware, and installation costs (without reliance on standardized pricing books)
- Write and submit RFIs; interface with clients to confirm scope accuracy
- Prepare initial bid proposals and refine through internal review
- Revise and adjust estimates as project details evolve
- Collaborate with Senior Estimator to finalize submissions
- Ensure budgets reflect both craftsmanship standards and profitability goals
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience managing or estimating high-end construction projects
- Strong background in custom architectural millwork
- Deep understanding of millwork fabrication methodologies and materials
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings with precision
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience using PlanSwift or similar takeoff software
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Highly organized with exceptional time management skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred

COMPENSATION:
We are seeking top tier talent and offer compensation that reflects the nature of this role.
Expected salary range: $90,000 - $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience, expertise and demonstrated performance in high-end custom millwork estimating.
